Vittoriosa Stars and San Gwann registered wins in two matches from from Group B of the IZIBET Amateur League on Monday.
At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Vittoriosa Stars beat Ta’ Xbiex 5-1. Liam Gauci put the Stars ahead on the 13th and a minute later, Aaron Sammut doubled the score. Joseph Jojo Ogunnupe made it 3-0 on the 24th but Nicky Vella pulled one back one minute from the end of the first half. Aidan Agius Gilford made it 4-1 and one minute in added time, Leighton Grech scored Vittoriosa’s fifth.
On the other hand, San Gwann defeated Ghaxaq by the odd goal in five at the Centenary Stadium. Andre Joe Cutajar put San Gwann ahead six minutes from the end of the first half. Mattia Zarb doubled the score on the 59th but Clive Fenech reduced the gap for Ghaxaq on the 78th. Nezar Fawzi Abouhaisa made it 3-1 on the 87th but Jurgen Gerada scored a second goal for Ghaxaq on the 90th.
