Floriana maintained a perfect record in the BOV Premier League with a third win in as many matches as they defeated Hibernians 2-0 at the National Stadium on Tuesday.
The Paolites, therefore, suffered their first defeat after claiming maximum points from the first two matches.
Floriana took the lead on the 38th minute when Kemar Reid gained possession in midfield and advanced upfield before beating goalkeeper Ibrahim Kane with a fine shot from outside the area.
Just before the end of the first half, Hibs were unlucky not to equalise when off a corner by Giannis Bastianos from the left, Ferdinando Apap’s header hit the foot of the upright.
However three minutes from time, the Greens sealed the issue with a second goal when off an erratic clearance by a defender, Kemar Reid took the loose ball and rounded a defender before hitting low past Kone from the edge of the area.
