Gudja United part ways with coach Jesmond Zammit

Gudja United announced that the club and Jesmond Zammit had agreed to part ways.

Gudja share the bottom spot with Sirens and Santa Lucia and although they are the only team yet to register a win in the BOV Premier League, they earned their points in six draws out of eleven matches.

Jesmond Zammit had started his coaching career with Dingli Swallows whom he led to promotion to the Premier League in 2009. He left the club to join Valletta FC as team-manager but the following season, Zammit was appointed as coach of Hamrun Spartans. He stepped down eight months later, joining Zebbug Rangers in summer 2012, spending just over two years. In 2016, he joined Xewkija Tigers, coaching the Hibernians women’s team at the same time for one year. With Xewkija, he won the championship in 2016/17, spending four years at the club. Zammit had a first spell with Gudja United in season 2020/21. Last season, Zammit coached Qrendi in the Challenge League before making a return to Gudja this summer.
