Mtarfa registered a eighth successive win in Group A of the IZIBET Amateur League as they defeated Siggiewi 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Josuel Spiteri put Mtarfa ahead on the 5th minute and Gianfranco Micallef doubled the score seven minutes later. Kurt Borg extended the lead on the 14th and although Isaac Ansanyi pulled one back eight minutes from the end of the first half, an own goal on the 67th sealed the issue for Mtarfa.
In another match, Mellieha bounced back from the defeat to Rabat as they beat Mqabba 3-0.
Malcolm Vella Vidal put the Blues ahead on the 14th. Tejumola Ebenezer Ayorinde doubled the score twelve minutes in the second half and Jack Vella sealed the issue with a third goal seven minutes later.
Mtarfa lead the way with 34 points, followed by Qrendi on 28, Birzebbuga 24, Rabat 21, Xghajra 18, Mellieha and Pembroke 17, Mqabba 16, Sta. Venera 14, Siggiewi 11, Kalkara 9 and Mdina 1.
