Mosta registered a first league win in three months as an early goal haned them a narrow win over Gudja United at the National Stadium on Sunday.
The Blues move fifth from bottom, one points ahead of Gzira and three ahead of Santa Lucia and just two behind Valletta.
Gudja, on the other hand, continue to share the bottom spot with Sirens as they continue to chase their first win.
Mosta scored the all-important goal on the 10th minute when they were awarded a penalty after goalkeeper Justin Spiteri floored Zachary Brincat inside the area; the Mosta captain’s effort from the penalty spot was blocked by the Gudja custodian but Armen Hovhannisyan controlled the ball off the rebound, placing it at the back of the net.
