Swieqi United joined Lija Athletic A and Santa Margherita in the semi-finals of the Enemed Women’s Futsal Trophy after edging 4-3 past Mtarfa Futsal after extra-time.

It was a hard-fought match which resulted in a decisive goal in the extra-time after the regular 40 minutes finished 3-3.

Amy Abdilla and Vanessa Carneiro scored a brace apiece for Swieqi United while Charlene Cassia, Oriana Bedingfield and Janice Pace were on target for Mtarfa.

The Enemed Women’s Futsal Trophy semifinals will be played next week as Lija Athletic face Santa Margherita while Swieqi United Futsal face University of Malta ACJ Group.
