A penalty deep in stoppage time enabled Birkirkara to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw with Hibernians at the National Stadium on Saturday.
The match came to life in the dying minutes with the Paolites forging ahead but with the Stripes levelling matters in added time.
This draw leaves the two teams sharing the fifth place on 25 points.
Just after being included as a substitute, Isaiah Chukunyere put Hibernians ahead five minutes from time thanks to a rising shot which beat goalkeeper Marcel Zapytowski.
However five minutes in added time, Birkirkara were awarded a penalty after Higor Gabriel Fernandes Alves floored Andrea Zammit inside the area and the latter converted from the penalty spot.
