In the last match of the Enemed Challenger League before the start of the play-offs, the Malta Under-19 selection defeated the Under-18 selection 2-1 in a clash between the two youth selections who can be considered as the future of Maltese futsal. The match turned out to be a balanced affair and the result went the Under-19’s way in the final two minutes.
It was the under-18 team that surged ahead through Isaac Vella with Ivin Gatt equalising three minutes from the end of the first half.
The Under-19 selection scored the winning goal through Collin Sammut.
Meanwhile, the semi-finals of the Enemed Premier Futsal League where University of Malta ACJ Group will play against Swieqi United and champions Luxol face ŻRQ Bormla will be played over two legs towards the end of April and the beginning of May.
On the other hand, in the quarter finals of the Enemed Challenger League, the Malta Under-19 selection will face Gżira United Santa Margherita while Marsaskala Futsal take on Sliema Wanderers Futsal. The winners of these two clashes will play against Ta’ Xbiex Futsal or Birżebbuġa St Peter’s Futsal.
