UEFA U16 Development Tournament: Malta defeats Georgia on penalties

Malta won the UEFA U16 Development Tournament after defeating Georgia 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw at the Centenary Stadium on Monday.

In the first two matches, Malta had defeated Andorra 1-0 and Liechtenstein 4-1.

Malta created the better chances throughout the ninety minutes and was unlucky to hit the posts with Jack Camilleri and Daniel Pawley. In the penalty shoot-out, the locals scored four while goalkeeper Adam Newell performed a good save on Saba Marsagisghvili.
