Birkirkara won the Assikura Women’s Knock-Out after defeating Hibernians 2-0 in the final at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
The Stripes therefore completed the treble after winning the Assikura Super Cup in December and the Assikura Women’s League. For Birkirkara, this was the seventeenth success in the Assikura Women’s Knock-Out.
Valentina Rapa put the Stripes ahead on the 13th minute and Sara Saliba doubled the score on the 76th.
After the game, Birkirkara were presented with the trophy by Malta FA Vice President Dr Maria Azzopardi and Assikura Managing Director Andrew Grech.
On their way to the final, the Stripes had defeated Lija Athletic 7-0 and Valletta 1-0 on their way to the final while the Paolites beat Mgarr United 2-1 and Swieqi United 1-0 after extra-time.
