Luxol St. Andrews and ŻRQ Bormla will be contesting the final of the E & L Futsal Trophy after emerging as winners in the respective semi-finals.

Champions Luxol St. Andrews beat holders University of Malta ACJ Group 3-1.

It was a hard-fought game with Luxol turning the score in their favour after the University team had taken the lead.

Raimundo Nonato put University of Malta ACJ Group on top with Celino Alves equalising. This goal gave Luxol great confidence and quickly went 2-1 ahead thanks to captain Mark Zammit who surprised Dylan Cacciatolo with a first-time effort.

Luxol sealed the victory thanks to Celino Alves who deposited the ball inside an empty net for a personal double.

ZRQ Bormla found little difficulty in beating Swieqi United 6-1. The latter were a disappointing lot as they made several defensive mistakes.

The Cottonera side were leading 4-0 thanks to goals by Dylan Musu, Jose Rodriguez, Jovica Milijic and Dale Valletta.

Kubilay Karadol reduced the arrears for Swieqi but Mohammed Elamari and another goal by Jovica Milijic secured victory for ŽRQ Bormla.

The final of the E & L Futsal Trophy will be played on Friday at the National Sports School Pavilion at 20.45.
