Birkirkara FC have appointed Stefano De Angelis as their new coach. He replaces Jose Borg whose contract at the club expired at the end of the season.

This will be Stefano De Angelis’ second experience in local football after working at Hamrun Spartans as assistant coach.

De Angelis started his coaching career at Citta di Marino and later served at Rende before joining the Cosenza youth sector although he eventually took over their senior side as well. Later, De Angelis served as coach of the primavera sides of Bari and Cosenza before spells at Avezzano, ASD San Luca and Ostia Mare. Before moving to Malta to join Hamrun Spartans as assistant coach, first with Branko Nisevic and later with Luciano Zauri, he had served as assistant coach at Lavello.
