Marsaxlokk secured the services of Brazilian twenty nine year old midfielder Guttiner Heider Fernando Costa Tenorio.

Guttiner played for América Mineiro, Guarani, Grêmio Osasco Audax, Audax Rio de Janeiro, Rio Claro, Portuguesa, Bonsucesso, LInense and Vitoria before moving to Ukraine to play for Olimpik Donetsk and Chornomorets Odessa,. He moved to Malta in September 2018 to join Hibernians. Guttiner then moved back to Ukraine to join Obolon Kyiv. Later he played for Viktoria Zizkov in the Czech Republic, FK Kramatorsk in Ukraine, Navbahor in Uzbekistan, Stomil Olsztyn in Poland, Zakho and Naft Al Eassat in Iraq and Esperanza Yokohama in Japan

The Southseasiders, who had earlier confirmed Winston Muscat as coach and appointed Erdal Karaman as assistant coach and Charles Sciberras as goalkeepers coach, signed Lucas Lopez.
