Just a month after being announced as a new player of Bosnia and Herzegovina champions Borac Banja Luka, Malta international midfielder Shaun Dimech returns to Malta to join Birkirkara FC.

A product of Valletta, Dimech, who is now twenty two years old, made his Premier League debut when he was still a fifteen year old in February 2017. Since then, he has always played for the Citizens.

In mid-June, Dimech joined Borac Banja Luka but his actual transfer arrived after the deadline for the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round, failing to make an official first appearance for the club.

Birkirkara, who have appointed Stefano De Angelis as their new coach, had earlier signed Maicon and goalkeeper Giacomo Volpe.
