Birkirkara FC secured the services of Argentinian thirty one year old central defender Agustín Sandona.

A product of CA Union Santa Fe, Sandona also played for Patronato before moving to Bolivia to join Club Blooming. He then returned to Argentina where he played for San Martin, Guillermo Brown, San Telmo and Douglas Haig.

Birkirkara, who have appointed Stefano De Angelis as their new coach, had earlier signed Shaun Dimech, Maicon, Manuel Morello, Laton and Leandro Lacunza and goalkeeper Giacomo Volpe.
