Newly-promoted Melita secured the services of twenty-four year old forward José David Barragán Romero.
Jose Barragan, who holds a dual Venezuelan/Colombian passport and has in fact played for Venezuela at youth level, started his career at Perijanero FC and later played for Zulia FC and Patriotas before moving to the USA to join Swope Park. He had a spell with La Serena in Chile but moved back to Venezuela to play for Jaguares FC and later, Envigado, Deportivo Pasto and Patriotas. Earlier this year, he joined Deportivo Zacapa Tellioz in Guatemala.
The club had earlier secured the services of David Xuereb, Kurt Bondin, Ensell Attard and William Legault along with Polish goalkeeper Aleksander Lubik, Colombian defender Aldair Simanca and Spanish centre-back Marc Van de Bovenkamp.
