Naxxar Lions continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Brazilian twenty seven year old forward Gustavo Barbosa Santos.

Throughout his career, Barbosa played for Rio Branco, Icasa, Ferroviario, Garibaldi, Treze, Anapolis, Aymores, Horizonte, Concordia, Nacional and Feirense.

Meanwhile former Birkirkara and Gzira United defender, Fernando Barbosa Pereira will be staying with Naxxar after agreeing a new deal.

The Lions, who have confirmed George Vella as their coach, had earlier signed Matthias Debono, Kemmu Degran Jackson, Matheus Taumaturgo, Luan Dias, Pedro Vitor, Caxambu, Nikolai Micallef, Myron Micallef, Matthias Fenech, Kayne Haber and Kane Abela and confirmed Japanese duo Yasukaze Ito and Takuma Yamaguchi, Edson Cerquiera Farias and Neil Pace Cocks.
