Champions Hamrun Spartans and runners-up Floriana cross swords in the big match from match day 2 of the 360Sports Malta Premier Opening Round at the National Stadium on Saturday. Marsaxlokk take on newly-promoted Melita in the second match.
In their first outing, Hamrun registered a 3-1 win over newly-promoted Zabbar St. Patrick but Floriana could only manage to escape with a 3-3 draw from the clash with the other newly-promoted side, Melita.
A win for either side would be an important statement of intent as the two teams started this league campaign as the main challengers for the championship.
Both sides will be unable to field their best formation as Emerson Marcelina and Steve Borg are injured for Hamrun and Kemar Reid for Floriana.
Meanwhile in the second match, Marsaxlokk take on Melita.
The Southseasiders eye their first points after losing narrowly to Gzira United last week. Melita, on the other hand, put on a spirited display in the clash with Floriana, going two goals ahead and despite conceding three goals, notched a point with a late equaliser.
