Local futsal champions Luxol St Andrew’s will begin their title defense with a game against Ta’ Xbiex as the Enemed Futsal League draws were drawn at the MFA Trophies Lounge on Wednesday.

Last season, the team led by Gabriel Dobre dominated the local futsal scene as they won the league, the Knock-Out competition and the Super Cup.

In more matches from Match Day 1, Marsaskala Futsal Legends face the Maltese under-17 team while Gżira/Birżebbuġa St Peter’s Futsal play against Swieqi United Futsal LEC 07. On the other hand, University of Malta face the Maltese under-19 team. The championship is set to start in the first week of October.

Meanwhile, the draws for the Enemed Women’s Futsal League have also been made with champions Lija Women drawn against Santa Margerita Futsal B while Swieqi United were pitted against Zero Sei Women Futsal. Mtarfa Women Futsal face Parr Mela Pebbles Futsal while Santa Margerita Futsal A will have their first engagement against Iklin Women’s Futsal.

Top FMA officials, club representatives together with the MFA vice-president Dr. Matthew Paris were present for the draws.
