The Gozitan selection Malta in the UEFA Regions Cup suffered a narrow defeat to hosts Liguria in another match from Group 8 of the Intermediate Round at the Stadio Giuseppe Sivori in Sestri Levante, Italy on Friday.

Following a goalless first half, the team, led by Shaun Bajada, conceded a goal two minutes in the second half through Lorenzo Damonte.

They will be playing their last match on Monday against the Romanian Amateur Football Squad. The Romanians lost 0-5 to Liguria and 1-4 to Rijeka.
