Balzan managed to take the lead on the hour when off a Jan Busuttil corner, Henri Stanic’s header was blocked by Clayton Failla but the ball had crossed the goal line.
Two minutes later, Mosta levelled matters thanks to a close-range header by Sasha Cachia off a Clayton Failla corner from the right.
Mosta forged ahead on 75 minutes when Prince Afriyie released Chisom Sunday Okereke on the left and the latter’s first attempt was blocked but then managed to beat goalkeeper Danilo Golovic with an angled shot.
However, Balzan equalised seven minutes from time when they awarded a penalty after Isaac Westendorf was brought down inside the area and from the penalty spot, Udoyen Akpan converted.
