BOV Challenge League: Valletta take sole leadership following dramatic win over Senglea

Valletta took sole leadership in the BOV Challenge League as they came from behind to beat Senglea Athletic at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.

Benjamin Tweneboa put Senglea ahead ten minutes from time but six minutes later, Enoch Mushagalusa levelled matters and Jeferson Ferreira notched the winner three minutes in added time.

A goal by Sulahmana Mamadu Bah seven minutes from time handed Zurrieq a narrow win over Mtarfa at the Centenary Stadium while in another match, Santa Lucia defeated St. Andrews 2-0 thanks to a goal by Andreas Vella on the 20th and a penalty by Jean Carlos on the 64th.

At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Gudja United defeated Fgura United 2-1. Diego put Gudja ahead on the 21st and ten minutes later, Willian doubled the score. Dylan Caruana reduced the gap twelve minutes in the second half.

Valletta lead the way with 18 points, followed by Pieta’ and Zurrieq on 15, Marsa 14, Tarxien 13, Mgarr and Sirens 12, Swieqi 11, Gudja 10, Zebbug and Santa Lucia 7, Fgura 6, Senglea and St. Andrews 5, Lija 4 and Mtarfa 3.
