Vittoriosa Stars registered a comfortable 5-1 win over Gharghur in a match from the IZIBET Amateur League 1 at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.
Gianluca Sultana put the Stars ahead two minutes from the end of the first half. Paul Odunayo Aderibigbe doubled the score on 59 minutes and although Nestor Luis Silva pulled one back five minutes later, Joseph Jojo Ogunnupe converted a penalty on 78 minutes. Aderibigbe increased the lead on 80 minutes and Arsene Rye Cilia Mumford scored a fifth goal on the 90th.
Leaders Birzebbuga St. Peter’s, on the other hand, defeated Qrendi 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium thanks to goals by Samuel Saldanha on the 36th and Leejoe Schembri on the 93rd
Xghajra Tornados defeated Luqa St. Andrew’s 3-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Raylon Kaylon Paisley put Xghajra ahead on 43 minutes and Richmond Baratuipre Hanson scored twice on 58 and 70 minutes with Sherif Mohammed Iddrisu reducing the gap one minute from time.
On the other hand, an own goal on 18 minutes handed Qormi a narrow win over Attard at the Luxol Stadium.
