Luxol, University, Marsaskala and Ta’ Xbiex through to Laferla Futsal Knock-Out semi-finals

Four teams advanced to the Laferla Futsal Knock-Out semi-finals after winning their respective matches.

The current holders and champions Luxol St Andrew’s overcame the stiff challenge of Hamrun SC Futsal 4-2. The Reds were in the lead twice but the team led by Gabriel Dobre was quick to turn the result in their favour. Mark Zammit scored twice while Emil Raducu and Everton Veve scored the other two goals. Justin Theuma and Collin Sammut scored for Hamrun.

The University of Malta beat GZR Birżebbuġa 6-4 in an entertaining game.

After a half where the two sides were close to each other, in the second half, the Universitarians came out well and opened up a lead that they kept until the end.

Prolific scorer Cleavon Portelli scored a hat-trick while Luke Anthony Borg was the author of a double. Mohamed Elamari scored the other goal. Shataizan Zarb, Armando Gjepali and Nikola Milenkoski scored for GZR Birżebbuġa.

Marsaskala beat the Maltese Under-17 selection 8-0. The Southsiders dominated the match and scored their goals through doubles from Dale Valletta u Ryan Pisani with Bertram Azzopardi, Amir Ashtiyani, Sean Parnis and Owen Duca scoring the other goals.

Ta Xbiex beat Swieqi United LEC 07 5-3. These two sides met for the second time in a week after Swieqi won the league clash 6-1. This time, however, Christian Wismayer’s team carried out a sporting revenge as they won this encounter.

Juan Bautista Conde scored a hat trick for Ta’ Xbiex with Redeemer Borg and Giancarlo Sammut scoring the other goals. Rodrigo Rocha, Roller Cruz and Claudio Venuto scored for Swieqi.
