Stefi Cale scored twice as Zejtun Corinthians extended their positive run thanks to a 2-1 win over Qrendi 2-1 in one of the matches from the Play-Out of the IZIBET Amateur League 1 at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday.
Cale put Zejtun ahead on 11 minutes and Ayesller Carvalho equalised on 66 minutes but Cale notched the winner on 69 minutes.
Gharghur earned three important points in a 3-2 win over Marsaskala at the Charles Abela Stadium. Nestor Luis Silva scored a hat-trick for Gharghur with a penalty on the 23rd, a goal on the 31st and another penalty on the 75th with Marsaskala reducing the gap thanks to goals by Mikele Vella on 82 minutes and Joshua Ojelabi three minutes later.
Pembroke Athleta defeated Msida St. Joseph 4-0 at the Sirens Stadium thanks to Maverick Cassar on 24 minutes, Weverton Gomes on 37 and 38 minutes and Ryan Sciberras on 42 minutes.
Kirkop United and Rabat Ajax shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Charles Abela Stadium. Jean Scholey put the Magpies ahead on 13 minutes and although Matthew Borg equalised on 41 minutes, Kurt Muscat restored the lead just before half-time. However Seydna Oumar Dicko restored equilibrium on 75 minutes.
Qormi defeated Mellieha 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Steven Schembri put Qormi ahead on 37 minutes, Marc Bolane Adonis levelled matters on 70 minutes but Cadu notched the winner ten minutes from time.
Qormi lead the way with 25 points, followed by Qrendi on 24, Zejtun 22, Mellieha and Kirkop 17, Pembroke 16, Marsaskala 15, Gharghur 13, Rabat 7 and Msida 4.
