UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship: Malta defeats hosts Azerbaijan

Nina Lee Naudi scored twice as Malta defeated hosts Azerbaijan in the last match from Group B2 of the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship at the Bayil Arena in Baku on Tuesday. Malta therefore placed third in the group despite ending its commitments on level points with Azerbaijan due a better record in the direct encounter.

Following a goalless first half, Naudi put Malta ahead five minutes in the second half and the Sampdoria player doubled the score three minutes later.
