The Malta Under-17 side lost 1-2 to Luxembourg in another match from Group B5 of the UEFA Under-17 Championship Round 2 at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.
Sami Abo Assaf put Malta ahead on 17 minutes but just before the end of the first half, Bilal Dardari levelled matters for Luxembourg.
Five minutes from time, Ruben Sousa notched the winner for Luxembourg.
On Wednesday, Malta faces the Faroe Islands who drew 0-0 with Luxembourg and lost 0-1 to Bulgaria in the previous two matches.
