BOV Amateur Cup: Attard and Qrendi reach semi-finals

Victoria Hotspurs and Qrendi will be contesting the final of the BOV Amateur Cup after they emerged as winners from the two semi-finals which were played on Wednesday.

At the Victor Tedesco Stadium, IZIBET Amateur League 2 champions Victoria Hotspurs defeated Attard 5-0. Kurt Borg put the Hotspurs ahead on 13 minutes and just before the end of the first half, Matthias Said doubled the score. Kurt Borg scored another on 70 minutes and seven minutes later, Dejan Bogdanovic extended the lead. Wellington scored the fifth goal four minutes from time.

On the other hand, Qrendi beat Mellieha 3-2 at the Centenary Stadium. Brandon Bray put Qrendi ahead just before the end of the first half but Sasa Glumac equalised eight minutes in the second half. Goals by Ayesller Carvalho on 73 minutes and Gianfranco Micallef on 79 minutes put Qrendi 3-1 ahead with Edafe Christopher Uzeh reducing the gap three minutes in added time.

The final will be played at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday, kick-off at 16:00.

The winners would then face IZIBET Amateur League 1 champions Birzebbuga St. Peter’s in the National Amateur Super Cup on May 11 at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 16:00.
