Opening Round winners Floriana and Closing Round winners Sliema Wanderers will be facing each other in the play-off for third place at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Friday, kick-off at 20:30, to determine who would be playing in the UEFA Conference League this summer.

In the Final Four semi-finals, a goal two minutes in added time in the second half of extra-time condemned Sliema Wanderers to a 0-1 defeat to Birkirkara while Floriana lost to Hamrun Spartans on penalties.

Therefore while Birkirkara and Hamrun Spartans will be facing each other in the Championship final on Saturday which would also determine who will take part in the UEFA Champions League and who will enter the UEFA Conference League, the second spot in the UEFA Conference League would go to the winner of the clash between Floriana and Sliema Wanderers.

The Wanderers had defeated Floriana on penalties in the Pre-Season Summer Cup and following a goalless draw in the Opening Round League Phase, Floriana defeated Sliema 1-0 in the Top 6. In the Closing Round League Phase, Floriana registered a 2-1 win but in the Top 6, Sliema won 2-0.

Meanwhile in the first match, kick-off at 18:15, Naxxar Lions cross swords with Melita in the Relegation Decider.

In the Opening Round, Naxxar Lions finished bottom of the table together with Balzan while in the Closing Round, Melita ended their commitments at the bottom, six points behind Balzan.

This meant that Balzan were automatically relegated while Naxxar and Melita will battle out to avoid relegation.

In the Opening Round, Melita collected eighteen points thanks to five wins and three draws in sixteen matches but in the Closing Round, they collected just eleven thanks to two wins and five draws. On the other hand, Naxxar earned twelve points in the Opening Round thanks to two wins and six draws but in the Closing Round, they registered six wins and obtained two draws to earn twenty points.
