Ħamrun SC ended their adventure in Group F of the Euro Winners Cup which is being held in Nazaré, Portugal with three defeats in three matches.
They kicked off their campaign with a 7–3 defeat to German champions Bavaria Beach Bazis.
The German side, reigning national beach soccer champions, came out aggressively and found the net within seconds through Rigo. The same player doubled their lead in the fifth minute, although Nezar Abouhaisa quickly responded to reduce the deficit for Ħamrun. Just before the end of the first period, Vasilets restored Bavaria’s two-goal cushion, sending the teams into the break at 3–1.
In the second period, Bavaria continued to dominate, adding two more goals through Rutterschmidt and Radosta. Juanito managed to pull one back for Ħamrun, but the momentum remained with the German side.
The final period followed a similar pattern. Rutterschmidt completed his brace, while Ħamrun’s third goal came from an own goal by Fusi. Rühl then sealed the victory for Bavaria with a late strike.
Ħamrun SC fell to their second defeat, losing 7–3 to Copenhagen BSC.
The Maltese side made a dream start, taking the lead after just two seconds through Juanito. However, Copenhagen quickly responded, with Wegeberg levelling the score just minutes later.
In the second period, Ħamrun regained the advantage thanks to a well-placed header from JP Zammit. But Copenhagen hit back once again, this time with a spectacular overhead kick by Cristian to make it 2–2. The match remained lively and evenly contested, with Frandsen giving Copenhagen the lead for the first time. Ħamrun weren’t done yet, as JP Zammit struck again to restore parity at 3–3. At that point, signs of fatigue began to show for the Maltese side. Just before the end of the second period, goalkeeper Valdemar pushed Copenhagen ahead 4–3.
In the final period, the Danish team took full control, scoring three more goals through Wegeberg, Rius, and Stubgaard to seal a convincing victory.
Meanwhile in the third match, Ħamrun SC suffered a heavy 9-0 loss to Belarusian side TSOR.
