Steve Borg re-joins Valletta

Valletta secured the services of thirty-seven year old defender Steve Borg.

A product of Mosta, Steve Borg made his Premier League debut in season 2005/06. He was transferred to Valletta in 2009 and in summer 2015, he joined Aris Limassol in Cyprus, helping them retain their top division status. Borg moved back to Malta in 2016, spending four years with Valletta. He moved to Gzira United in summer 2020 but in January 2022, he joined Hamrun Spartans.

The Citizens, who have confirmed Thane Micallef as their coach, had earlier signed goalkeeper Adilson Maringá, Mattias Ellul, Yannick Yankam, Thomas Melillo, Sava Radic, Shaft Brewer Jr, Emmanuel Mbende, Jackson Mendoza, Yuri Messias and Thaylor and confirmed goalkeeper Timmy Aquilina, Zachary Cassar, Neil Micallef, Rowen Muscat, Brandon Paiber Andrea Zammit and Andrei Ciolacu. However, James Scicluna, Peter Xuereb, Ayrton Attard, Neil Tabone, Christian Gauci, Enoch Mushagalusa, Enzo Ruiz, Aidan Friggieri and Jefferson Ferreira were not retained.
