The Malta Football Association informs the sporting public that it has taken note of a number of statements issued in recent days by its members and stakeholders about the distribution of the solidarity funds allocated for Maltese clubs following a new agreement signed by UEFA and the ECA.
The representatives of the Malta Premier League, Challenge League, National Amateur League and the Youth Football Association have already been notified about the dialogue meeting which is intended to clarify their respective positions vis-a-vis the UEFA solidarity funds, in the process ensuring that all those concerned receive up-to-date information about the regulations and obligations in relation to the matter under discussion.
The Malta Football Association is hopeful that, as in the past, the principle of solidarity at the heart of the sporting model of football will continue to strengthen the bond between those working at the grassroots level and those involved in the professional tiers of the game.
At this stage, the Malta FA believes there is no room for further division among the relevant stakeholders. It therefore urges all parties to engage constructively in this dialogue process and to commit to moving forward in good faith.
