Birkirkara signed Serbian thirty year old defender Stefan Marjanovic.

A product of FK Kolubara Lazarevac, Marjanovic played for FK Turbina, FK Sumadija Arandjelovac, FK Smederevo 1924 and Graficar Belgrade before a spell in Montenegro with FK Podgorica. He returned to Serbia where he played for FK Kolubara Lazarevac, Radnicki Nis, Kolubara Lazarevac and FK Javor-Matis Ivanjica and following a short spell with GS Ilioupolis in Greece, re-joined FK Smederevo 1924

Birkirkara had earlier signed goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Martínez, Jan Busuttil, Franklin Sasere, Macula, Geoffrey Acheampong, Marcos Maydana and Fran Lopez and confirmed Luis Cordova, Leandro Lacunza, Manuel Morello, Pablo Gaitan and Donovan Makoma and released Giacomo Volpe, Agustin Sandona, Larsson Coulibaly, Brian Esalo and Gnamien Yipke with Maxuell Samurai moving to Gzira United and Paul Mbong having his contract expiring at the end of last season.
