The Malta Premier League (MPL) welcomes the Government’s decision to introduce the National Long-Stay Visa (D-Visa).

This newly introduced visa represents a significant step forward in the regulation, oversight, and facilitates the work carried out by sports organisations.

In football, this measure will greatly assist in supporting the player transfer process for all member clubs, promoting greater efficiency, transparency, and fairness in international recruitment.

This National Long-Stay Visa (D-Visa) was launched and announced earlier this week, by Minister for Home Affairs, Security and Employment, Byron Camilleri, and designed for third-country National Athletes invited for trial periods by Maltese registered sports clubs.
