Maltese-Australian attacking midfielder Jake Brimmer could play for the Malta national team after he switched his international allegiance to Malta.
The Auckland FC player will now be eligible to represent Malta after his change was approved by FIFA.
Brimmer, who is 27 years old, had played for the Australia Under-17 and Under-20 national teams.
He played for Nunawading City and FFV NTC in Australia before joining Liverpool where he played for three years at youth level. Brimmer then returned to Australia where he played for Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory before joining Auckland.
