The MPL announced that Champions Ħamrun Spartans filed a request to reschedule their opening Match Week 1 match to Sunday, 17th August, due to travelling for their UEFA commitments.

Since their opponents Tarxien Rainbows, under the circumstances, agreed to the change and following confirmation of mutual agreement between both clubs, the MPL raised no objection to the revised fixture.

This change will impact the only fixture now on the Monday in MW 1 between Hibernians and Gżira United, now being brought forward to a 19:00h kick-off time at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Hamrun Spartans will be played on Sunday 17 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium at 19:00.
