The Malta Football Association would like to announce that Gabriel Dobre’s contract as Head Coach of the Malta Futsal National Team will not be extended.

Mr Dobre first took charge of the team in September 2023, initially on an interim basis. His contract was then extended for the 2024/25 season.

Mr Dobre’s leadership marked a historic chapter for the Malta Futsal National Team. Under his guidance, the team achieved its first-ever qualification to the qualifying round of a UEFA competition, a significant milestone in its futsal journey.

Notably, the team also secured its biggest-ever competitive victory, an 8-0 win over Gibraltar on 11th April 2024 in Bern, Switzerland.

The Malta FA expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr Dobre for his commitment and contribution to Maltese futsal and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.

The Association will now begin the recruitment process for a new national team coach.
