FIFA referee Trustin Farrugia Cann announced that he would be standing for the election for the vacant post of Vice President of the Malta Football Association which will be held during the third Ordinary General Assembly of the association on October 16.

For this reason, Farrugia Cann will be suspending himself from refereeing. He has been refereeing for twenty four years, making his Premier League debut in 2010 and a FIFA referee for the past ten years.
