Birkirkara FC announce sponsorship agreement with bet-at-home

Birkirkara FC is proud to announce a new sponsorship agreement with leading international online sports betting provider bet-at-home, marking an important milestone in the club’s growth and development.

The two-season partnership, running until mid-2027, will see bet-at-home featured prominently on the back of the first-team shirts in all competitive matches, both home and away. The agreement also covers training kit branding, digital presence, training ground visibility, and exclusive hospitality opportunities.

Birkirkara FC president Michael Valenzia said that bet-at-home was a very reputable company which was established in Austria over twenty five years ago and isone of the most recognised brands in the world.

The company holds multiple gaming licenses across the globe, including Malta, which underlines a strong international presence and credibility. With millions of registered customers that at home has earned significant brand recognition, particularly in German speaking Europe and Eastern Europe.
It is a household name in these markets. bet-at-home has a long and proud history of sponsoring major football clubs and sporting events across Europe. This tradition demonstrates their commitment to sport at every level.

“It is a sign of our ambition and respect our club commands that Birkirkara FC has been able to attract such a major international partner. This collaboration is not just sports sponsorship, it’s a statement of intent from our end, and we are very grateful for bet-at-home that they chose Birkirkara FC over any other local sports or football club. We are aware that they have many options to choose from”.

“I would like to thank the people from our club, who are part of the negotiations and also part of something that we feel can be very important going forward, not just for Birkirkara FC but for Maltese football. Maltese football needs reputable brands, and I underline the word reputable brands, that are associated with local clubs. When you are talking about companies like that at home, you are also talking about people who have credibility. As a club, we are here to show that we meet business, both on and off the pitch. Football without off the pitch, cannot be sustainable. I believe Maltese football is at the crossroads, whereby both in the local scene and in an international scene, progress has been made, but it is now the time to take the next step.
We are very proud that we have bet-at-home as our new partner. We are working very hard to attract these type of brands and these type of companies. They also add on to a list of international companies that are associated with the club and also reputable local companies, McDonald’s, Nike, AMG posters, 247 Fitness, and others.
We will not stop here, we will try our best to make the people of Birkirkara proud, and we can assure them that we are working night and day to work on and off the pitch. “

Roland Aigner, CEO of bet-at-home, said “We’ve been here on the island since 2006 and it has been high time, to show local commitment, which we were proud of part which one of the most beautiful football clubs here in Malta. I think it’s a perfect time to do this as clearly Maltese football as a whole is on the rise and we want to be part of that. Our agreement shows that we are in this for the long term.”

“Birkirkara have high potential for an even better increase on return-on-investment. With everything going on in Maltese football altogether, also looking at the national sports, which is doing very respectably at the moment, we expect a good future for the league. If you invest early, you get the best return because you were an early believer. This is why we go for the rising stars,” added Aigner.

Meanwhile while addressing the team’s performance in the current season, Michael Valenzia said “As long as me and my colleagues are here, we are here to challenge for all honours at stake. We are not the only ones. There are clubs who invested heavily but we remain relevant and the only way to remain relevant is to challenge for honours. Last season, we were hardly given any chance but we went close, although this was not enough. We strengthened the squad, in our opinion, more than last season. We will judge this in December, at the end of the Opening Round and take the necessary decisions in January as this format gives you two opportunities. We believe in the squad we have. We believe that so far, certain things did not go the way we were expecting but it is a long journey and at the end we want to be there challenging for honours. “

“Apart from the Premier and FA Trophy, there is also the Jubilee Cup and therefore teams will be fighting for three competitions. We want to go as far as possible in all of these, always keeping in mind that there are other clubs who have the same objectives, who invested like us or even more.”

Referring to the squad, he said that only two of the players who left the club were still part of their plans. One was Alexander Satariano and the other had already expressed the intention to leave back in January. Valenzia said that the club is still hoping to make a signing by the end of this month to fill the gap left by the Malta international midfielder.

The Stripes parted ways with coach Stefano De Angelis after the two goalless draws in the opening two matches from the YoHealth Malta Premier.

The Birkirkara president revealed that the appointment of the new coach will take place shortly. He said it took the club a bit long as they wanted to choose the best option. While thanking De Angelis for the service rendered to the club, he thanked all the coaches with whom they had discussed and those who had expressed interest in the post, revealing that the club had immediately started receiving CVs from local and foreign coaches willing to join the club.
