Attard march on in the BOV Amateur League I as they came from behind to beat Victoria Hotspurs 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.
Kurt Borg put the Hotspurs ahead on 8 minutes but Precious Uchechukwu Nwankwo equalised on the half hour and Jayden John Bonanno notched the winner on 75 minutes.
At the Sirens Stadium, oals by Fabrizio Zammit on 27 minutes and Clyde Bouvet on 76 minutes handed Zejtun Corinthians a 2-0 win over Senglea Athletic while Mellieha beat Luqa St. Andrew’s 3-0 thanks to goals by Alex Sander on 58 and 72 minutes and Alexander Akl on 62 minutes.
Qormi defeated Xghajra Tornados 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Dale Mifsud put Qormi ahead on 7 minutes and Neil Tabone converted a penalty on 42 minutes. Shaban Chikh Ali pulled one back on 61 minutes.
On the other hand, the clash between Pembroke Athleta and Kirkop United at the Sirens Stadium ended in a goalless draw.
Attard lead the way with 12 points, followed by Mqabba on 9, Qrendi 8, Zejtun and Mellieha 7, Kirkop and Qormi 6, Senglea and Luqa 4, Victoria and San Gwann 3, Lija and Pembroke 2 and Xghajra 1.
