A goal by Miguel Perez Jimenez fifteen minutes from time handed Kalkara United a narrow win over Mdina Knights in a match from the BOV Amateur League II at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.
Bruno Menezes Pinheiro’s side therefore registered their eighth win in as many matches.
Siggiewi extended their positive run thanks to a 2-1 win over Marsaskala in another match at the Sirens Stadium. Matthew Borg put Siggiewi ahead on 24 minutes and Roderick Taliana converted a penalty to double the score. Diego Zammit pulled one back on 89 minutes.
At the Luxol Stadium, Ta’ Xbiex held Msida St. Joseph in a goalless draw while in another match, Gharghur beat Ghaxaq 2-1, goals by Owen Dalli on 18 minutes and Aaron Alfredo Doda on 41 minutes for Gharghur and Sheldon Vella on 82 minutes for Ghaxaq.
Kalkara lead the way with 24 points, followed by Siggiewi on 15, Dingli 14, Msida and Rabat 13, Ta’ Xbiex and Mdina 12, St. George’s 10, Gharghur 6, Marsaskala and Ghaxaq 5 and Sta. Venera 3.
