Kalkara United moved ten points clear in the BOV Amateur League II as they defeated Marsaskala 4-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium on Sunday.
Miguel Perez put Kalkara ahead on 37 minutes. Jean Claude Annati scored on 58 and 61 minutes with Miguel Perez adding another on 63 minutes.
Msida St. Joseph moved second thanks to a 4-0 win over Siggiewi at the Sirens Stadium. Following a goalless first half, Thomas Grima put Msida ahead on 57 minutes. Kurt Zammit doubled the score on 84 minutes and three minutes later, Taiwo David Akindele made it 3-0. Jayden Borg added another on the 90th.
Dingli Swallows defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium thanks to a brace by Ronaldinho Nathaniel Daley on 23 and 47 minutes – the second goal being a penalty and Mark Cutajar on 63 minutes.
Giovanni Galea notched a hat-trick as Mdina Knights defeated Rabat Ajax 3-2 at the Sirens Stadium. Galea opened the score after just two minutes and doubled the score on the 20th before converting a penalty two minutes from the end of the first half. Rabat reduced the gap with goals by Jamie Camilleri on 49 minutes and Victor Ifeanyi Mbata two minutes from time.
Ta’ Xbiex came back from a goal down to beat Ghaxaq 5-1 in another match at the Sirens Stadium. Clive Fenech put Ghaxaq ahead on 7 minutes but four minutes later, Jake Milwyn Davies levelled matters. Andre Joe Cutajar converted a penalty six minutes in the second half. Bledi Alla increased the lead on 63 minutes and Kane Micallef added another on 72 minutes. Bledi Alla made it 5-1 on 79 minutes.
Kalkara lead the way with 27 points, followed by Dingli on 17, Msida, Ta’ Xbiex and Siggiewi 15, Rabat 13, St. George’s 11, Gharghur 7, Marsaskala and Ghaxaq 5 and Sta. Venera 3.
