BOV Amateur League II: Kalkara United promoted

Kalkara United secured promotion to the National Amateur League I as they defeated Santa Venera Lightnings 7-0 in a match from the BOV Amateur League II at the Charles Abela Stadium on Sunday. 

Miguel Perez Jimenez handed Kalkara a two-goal lead within the first nine minutes with goals on 5 and 9 minutes. Ryan Dalli made it 3-0 on 23 minutes but Perez Jimenez added another on the half hour. Josmar Sammut  scored Kalkara’s fifth on 36 minutes. Ryan Dalli converted a penalty on 78 minutes before scoring another goal on the 90th. 

Dingli Swallows beat neighbours Rabat Ajax 4-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Ronaldinho Daley took just thirty seconds to put the Swallows ahead. Jurgen Gerada doubled the score on 18 minutes. Sean Abela reduced the gap for Rabat on 38 minutes but Daley made it 3-1 on 69 minutes, also converting a penalty on 77 minutes. 

Msida St. Joseph beat Gharghur 2-0 at the Sirens Stadium thanks to an own goal on 62 minutes and Yessous Camilleri on 74 minutes. 

Ta’ Xbiex came from behind to beat Marsaskala 3-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Federico Galea put Marsaskala ahead thanks to a penalty six minutes from the end of the first half but Vitor Alves scored twice on 57 and 62 minutes with Nathan Belhadj sealing the issue with another goal on 72 minutes. 

On the other hand, Mdina Knights defeated Siggiewi 7-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Jamie Lee Micallef put Mdina ahead on 5 minutes. Giovanni Galea doubled the score on 13 minutes and Ivan Bojovic made it 3-0 on 31 minutes but Juan Artiaga reduced the gap one minute from the end of the first half. Luke Formosa extended the lead on 55 minutes and Aaron Sammut Steer made it 5-1 on 79 minutes. Giovanni Galea added another two goals on 81 and 89 minutes.

Kalkara lead the way with 49 points, followed by Dingli on 37, Msida 36, Mdina 35, Ta’ Xbiex 34, Siggiewi 26, Rabat 22, St. George’s 21, Marsaskala 13, Gharghur and Ghaxaq 11 and Sta. Venera 7.
