Mgarr United were drawn with Tallinna FC Flora of Estonia in the Group 5 semi-final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League first qualifying round. The winner would then face Spartak Myjava of Slovakia in the final. The semi-final is scheduled for July 22 and the final for July 25 with a spot in Group 6 of the second qualifying round and a clash with Vllaznia of Albania at stake.
The UEFA Women’s Champions League first and second qualifying round draws were made on Thursday.
In all, 19 teams begin the competition in the first qualifying round on 22 and 25 July. Another 39 clubs enter in the second qualifying round on 5 and 8 August, joined by the five winners from the first stage. The 11 second qualifying round winners advance to the third qualifying round, in which seven teams enter automatically. The winners of the nine third qualifying round ties will join the nine clubs directly qualified for the league phase.
