Marsaxlokk signed twenty-eight year old Ukrainian central defender Oleksiy Bykov.

A product of Shakhtar Donetsk, Bykov played for Oleksandriya and FC Mariupol before spells on loan with Lokomotiv Plovdiv in Bulgaria, KA Akureyri in Iceland and Zaglebie Sosnowiec in Poland. Later he moved the same Polish club before joining MKS Chojniczanka Chojnice last season.

The Southseasiders, led by coach Enzo Potenza, had earlier signed Lucas Caruana and confirmed Christoffer Mafoumbi, Leandro Aguirre, Dodo, Domantas Simkus, Rasmus Linden, Isaac Christie-Davies, Redon Mihana and Ulises Arias.
