Rakow prove too strong for Valletta

Valletta were eliminated from the UEFA Conference League after suffering a 0-4 defeat to RKS Raków Częstochowa of Poland in the second leg of the second qualifying round at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday. 

Raków therefore make it to the next round with a 7-1 aggregate score following a 3-1 win at home last week.

The visitors managed to take the lead on 22 minutes when Adin Molnar served Ameyaw inside the area and the latter just flicked the ball past goalkeeper Adilson Maringa.

Raków doubled the score on 31 minutes. A shot by Adin Molnar from outside the area was partially saved by Adilson Maringa but Pienko hit home from close range.

Nine minutes in the second half, the Polish side extended the lead courtesy of Adin Molnar who received the ball on the edge of the area and after having a first attempt from the right blocked by the Valletta goalkeeper, he placed the ball at ht back of the net off the rebound.

To make matters worse for Valletta, Petar Sekulovic received a second yellow card on the hour, leaving his side in ten men.

Raków made it 4-0 twelve minutes from time when off a through ball, Makuch exchanged the ball with Oliwier Kwiatkowski on the left before hitting past Adilson Maringa from a close angle.
