Hibernians and Zabbar St. Patrick shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a match from the VBET Malta Premier Opening Round league phase at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
The Paolites took an early lead and were clearly a better side during the first half but during the second half, Zabbar tried hard to notch the equaliser and late in the game, levelled matters to earn an important point.
Hibernians had Jayden Roe and Alex Sobczyk replacing Fabian Jankovic and Ryder Matos while for Zabbar, Adnan Basic was preferred to Tobias Moriceau.
Hibernians took the lead on 3 minutes when Moritz Romling exchanged the ball with Boris Druga on the left before serving Jamie Wahling who slotted the ball past goalkeeper Patrik Mohorovic.
However, three minutes from time, Zabbar equalised when Mario Fontanella received a pass by Vinicius from the left and controlled the ball before serving Thomas Melillo who beat goalkeeper Matteo Cardinali with a low shot from the edge of the area.
