BOV National League I: Qrendi held by Mqabba

Qrendi dropped the first points in the BOV National League I after being held by Mqabba in a 1-1 draw in a match from the BOV National League I at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.

Jake Borg put Mqabba ahead on 17 minutes but Mikele Vella equalised on the half-hour.

Qormi returned to winning ways as they beat Dingli Swallows 2-0 at the Sirens Stadium thanks to goals by Christopher Mario Baker  just before the end of the first half and Daniel GTA on 59 minutes.

Mellieha beat Marsa by the odd goal in five at the Luxol Stadium. Luke Formosa put Mellieha ahead on 4 minutes and Alexander Akl doubled the score on 32 minutes but Larson Borg reduced the gap in added time. One minute in the second half, Jordan Vella made it 3-1 but Owen Galea scored a second goal for Marsa on the hour. 

Senglea Athletic defeated Kalkara United 3-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium thanks to a goal by Christopher Philip Baloteli on 8 minutes, a penalty by Johan Castano on the hour and Emeric Charles Coulaud six minutes later.

At the Sirens Stadium, San Gwann came from behind to beat Lija Athletic 2-1. Ross McParland converted a penalty after just eight minutes but Daren Falzon equalised on 21 minutes and Codie Dullard made it 2-1 three minutes from time. 

Qormi and Qrendi lead the way with 7 points, followed by Mellieha and San Gwann on 6, Lija 4, Senglea, Mqabba, Dingli and Kalkara 3, Pembroke 0 and Marsa -13. Mtarfa were suspended from the league after failing to turn up for two matches.
