BOV Amateur League II: Mdina Knights move second as Kalkara extend perfect record

Kalkara United extended their perfect record in the BOV Amateur League II as they defeated Dingli Swallows 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium on Sunday. 

Rhys Gove put Kalkara ahead on 33 minutes but Ronaldinho Daley equalised on 40 minutes. However Owen Gauci restored the lead seven minutes from time   

Ta’ Xbiex defeated Sta. Venera Lightnings 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Andre Joe Cutajar put them ahead on 29 minutes and Mark Bonello Ghio doubled the score on 44 minutes. Andres Martinez pulled one back thanks to a penalty on 65 minutes. 

A goal by Taiwo David Akindele ten minutes in the second half handed Msida St. Joseph a narrow win over Ghaxaq at the Charles Abela Stadium.

St. George’s  came back from two goals down to beat Marsaskala 4-3 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Vivi-Gaetan Mahop put Marsaskala ahead on 15 minutes but Sean Ellul equalised on 32 minutes. However Marsaskala regained the lead thanks to an own goal on 35 minutes and Zack Agius made it 3-1. However a goal by Jamiu Temilola Hassan on 63 minutes and a Matthew Robert Gauci penalty on 82 minutes restored equilibrium with Gauci notching the winner two minutes in added time. 

A goal by Jordan Vella on 31 minutes handed Mdina Knights a narrow win over Gharghur at the Luxol Stadium. 

On the other hand, in another match at the Sirens Stadium, Siggiewi scored two in each half to beat Rabat Ajax 4-0. Juan Artiaga put Siggiewi ahead on 11 minutes and Roderick Taliana doubled the score three minutes from the end of the first half, Artiaga extended the lead on 82 minutes and in added time, Nelson Mangion added another. 

Kalkara lead the way with 15 points, followed by Mdina on 11, St. George’s and Rabat 9, Msida 8, Ta’ Xbiex and Dingli 7, Siggiewi 6, Sta. Venera and Gharghur 3, Marsaskala and Ghaxaq 2.
