The Malta Football Association issued a statement in which it condemned the incidents which took place during the Under-17 League Section B match between Zabbar St. Patrick and Naxxar Lions at the Dingli Ground on Sunday.
“The Malta Football Association (Malta FA) notes the incident that occurred during today’s Under-17 match between Żabbar St. Patrick and Naxxar Lions.”
“The Malta FA strongly condemns any form of violence, altercation, or unsporting behaviour on or around the field of play. Such conduct goes against the fundamental values of football, including respect, discipline, and fair play, which the Association works continuously to promote across all levels of the game, particularly within youth football.”
“The Association confirms that the incident is being investigated by the Police and will be investigated by the Malta FA’s disciplinary inspector. The Malta FA has opened an investigation into the incident in order to establish the full facts surrounding what occurred. All relevant information will be reviewed in accordance with the Malta FA regulations and disciplinary procedures.”
“Following the conclusion of this process, the Malta FA will take any disciplinary action deemed necessary in line with its statutes and regulations.”
“The Malta Football Association reiterates its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the sport and ensuring that football environments remain safe, respectful, and appropriate for players, officials, and supporters.”
